A new Tenno app build reaches Steam first. iOS and Google Play get it after store approval. Some changes need no new build at all, because the team can deliver them from the server.
How a new build rolls out
Tenno is on Android (Google Play), iOS (App Store) and Steam. A new app build does not land on all three at once.
- The build reaches Steam first.
- iOS and Google Play follow after the stores approve it.
On iOS, a new version can take a few hours to appear because of App Store review. If you play on a phone, the update may not show up yet when you hear about it. Wait a little and check your store again.
Why some content waits for every platform
Some content needs the new build to work. A new Tenno Pass is one example. This content only unlocks once every platform has the new build, so players on all platforms start together. Steam players may have the build before the content opens.
The same account works on every platform, so you can sign in on any of them with your usual login.
Changes that need no store update
Not every change needs a new build. Content and balance changes can come from the server without a store update. A new Rumble season is one example. New app builds still need store approval.
So you may see a change in the game even if your store shows no new version.
How to update on Steam
Steam updates come through the Steam app. If you want the newest build:
- Restart Steam, not Tenno.
- If the version still looks old, check it in the in-game Settings.
- Do not rely on the Steam store page for the version. It only shows the patch notes.
On iOS and Google Play, update Tenno from your store. Mac players use the App Store's iOS build, and the Mac version runs on Apple Silicon only.
Patch notes and the in-game News
The latest patch notes are in the in-game News panel. Read more about it on the News feature page.
Patch notes can appear in the News before the store approves the build. A fix only applies after you update. A set of notes can cover many things. For example, the v2.80.0 notes listed Tenno Pass Season 10, new Rumble seasonal rewards, reworked Thunder skill animations and effects, and several skill fixes.
Announcements and events are also posted on Tenno's official socials. You can find them all at playtenno.io. The Discord is another place to follow news.
Why old versions lose multiplayer
When a new build ships, multiplayer is switched off for old app versions. If you cannot join parties or battles with others, update the game first.
Maintenance messages
If the game says "We are currently under maintenance", the team is working on the servers. Try again a little later. Update and maintenance news is posted in the in-game News panel and on the official socials.
On-demand downloads
Tenno downloads game assets on demand. This is by design.
- Settings has a download-all button.
- If you confirm a download once in a session, later downloads in that session start automatically.
Quick checklist
- Update from your store, or restart Steam if you play there.
- Check the in-game News for patch notes.
- If a store has not shown the new version yet, wait. Store approval can take time.
- If a problem continues after updating, email support@resurgegames.com. Replies take 3-5 working days.
The team does not share update dates here. Watch the in-game News and Tenno's socials for announcements.
